Dock Team Check out "Jump Tracks" in Cardiff
Member of the committee went on a
fact finding trip to Cardiff last week (Friday 14th November
2008) there mission to explore the viability of adding a
"Jump Track" into the plans for the park. The trip arranged
in cooperation between Tom Mosses, Go for IT, Sara Payne
Llanion Communities First and the Memorial Park Friends
Committee travelled to the capital to meet with Mike Murphy
Cardiff City Council Development Officer and Dave Jackson
Manager Maindy Pool Cycle Track and Fitness Suite and to
view "Jump Track" facilities in Cardiff. The team made
several stops during there day, not just viewing facilities
but testing them with help for the young "consultants" from
the Pembroke Dock Youth Centre who travelled with the
committee supported by Nadia Sullivan,. Community Support
Office from Pembroke Dock. The team were also given the
opportunity to ask questions from the Cardiff Council
representatives, who were enthusiastic, forthright and
informative, A good day was had by all and the committee
would like to extend a big thank you to Cardiff City Council
representatives for there excellent hospitality, useful
advise and enthusiasm. |
