New water transport service ‘Havenlink’ to be trialled this summer

A water transport service connecting the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail and running along the Milford Haven Waterway and Lower Cleddau Estuary will be trialled this summer.

The service is led by Pembrokeshire Greenways, in conjunction with Milford Haven Port Authority, who commissioned the trial, along with additional partners Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority PLANED and South West Wales Tourism Partnership. Havenlink will run a weekend service (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) for three months over the summer period. To book your place, simply call 01646 602681.

Operating from Saturday 14th June until Sunday 31st August, the service will commence from and return to Burton, calling at Neyland, Hobbs Point, Hazelbeach and Milford Haven (Mackerel Stage). Additional stops at Dale and at Angle will be included on the timetable, but will be highlighted as being tide and conditions dependant. The full service (incorporating Dale and Angle) will run from 9am until 17.30, with the abridged service returning to Burton at 16.00.

The Havenlink water transport service has been designed to be integrated into existing transport links, including the coastal bus service promoted by Pembrokeshire Greenways.

Timetables for the service will be displayed on the pontoons, be available from Tourist Information Centres and a copy can be downloaded by Clicking This Link

Rhian Higgins, the Pembrokeshire Greenways Officer promoting the scheme commented, “This is an exciting new project, which will provide both residents and tourists with enhanced transport links within the county”
