Milford Haven Port Authority and
Pembroke Dock Town Council Civic Reception This evening (Sunday 22nd June 2008) was again a special time for Pembroke Dock. A reception was held in conjunction with Milford Have Port Authority and Pembroke Dock Town Council to welcome the entrants in the Round Britain Offshore Power Boat Race 2008. As well as the Mayor of Pembroke Dock Councillor Ron Watts and members of Pembroke Dock Town Council was Mr Ted Sangster Chief Executive, MHPA. and his staff plus honoured guests. The third stage to Ireland is due to start around 1100hrs Monday 23rd June 2008 off Milford Haven. The boats and crew arrived in Pembroke Dock via a strange route, by road from Plymouth. The weather had been deemed unfit for the second leg of the challenge from Plymouth to Milford Haven. The sight of these power houses of the sea on the back of lorries made a spectacular back drop to the reception held in the now retired RMAS Depot off Fort Road This morning (Monday) we
here on Front Street could hear the roar of the boats readying for the
challenge ahead, we wish you all God speed and happy land fall, and hope
to see you again soon |
