Tidy Wales Week
This year’s Tidy Wales Week was the biggest yet, with a
record number of volunteers throughout Wales
demonstrating their willingness to do their bit to
contribute towards a clean, safe and tidy Wales.
In Pembrokeshire, nearly 700 volunteers took part in
litter picks during the week-long event in June. The
groups involved ranged from young farmers clubs,
schools, youth clubs and Scouts to community
associations, the WI, the National Trust and the local
Wildlife Trust, as well as ongoing efforts by Coastcare
groups.
Over 600 bags of rubbish were collected from towns,
villages, woodlands, beaches and divers mounted a clean
up along the sea bed. Events were run in conjunction
with Pembrokeshire County Council, who supplied
equipment and arranged collection and disposal of the
waste
